FLEET, Leonard Manchester C.D., of Exeter

July 27, 1941 to December 17, 2016. Deeply loved and cherished husband of Barb (McNeil). Loving and devoted father of Josh and Lisa, and Emily and Steve. Proud grandpa of Isabelle, Lily and Elliot Fleet; and Nora Henry and Felix Holloway. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly loved husband, father and grandpa peacefully at home. We thank God for the precious years we shared with Len and we draw strength and comfort in the knowledge that he has entered Eternal rest. Len leaves a very large circle of friends from both his military and civilian life. He is survived by his brothers Ralph and Carol, Wayne and Jean, his sister Wilda and Steven, and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. The family will meet visitors at the Zurich Mennonite Church, 37818 Zurich-Hensall Road, Zurich, one hour prior to the funeral service which will held on Thursday, December 22nd at 2 PM. An RCR tribute will begin the service followed by the message from Pastor Ryan Jantzi.

Len requested that those wishing to remember him will do so by visiting a friend to share a laugh and brighten their day or by lending a hand to someone in need. If you wish to make a monetary donation, please consider Zurich Mennonite Church for the extending of God’s Kingdom. Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter (519-235-1220) entrusted with arrangements.

Barb and family: There are no words to express the profound sadness we feel at Len’s passing. He was a good friend for many years. In fact, Len’s rather friendly, but insistent manner is the reason I have veteran license plates on my car today. We shared some great times, the most recent was attending the Cenotaph ceremony on November 11, 2016. He will always be remembered as being the best man at our wedding and I will miss him. He will be often on my mind and forever in my heart. Our prayers are with you as you journey through this very difficult and painful time. Love from John and Moriah Field
