FAMULSKI: Matthew of Seaforth
Posted By Haskett Funeral Homes On March 3, 2026 @ 3:37 PM In Obituary,Seaforth | 13 Comments

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Matthew Liam Famulski at Seaforth Community Hospital on Friday, February 27, 2026 at the age of 32. Matthew was a kind and caring person who bravely fought his health challenges. Cherished son of Karen (Ridley) and John Famulski. Loving brother of Franklin Pierce Famulski. Predeceased by his beloved grandparents; William Arnold and Noella (Telford) Ridley and Bruno and Maria (Bulinski) Famulski. Dear nephew of Theresa (Famulski) McCormick, Lucy (Famulski) Humphries, Michael and Luciana Famulski, William Charles and Anne Ridley, Linda (Ridley) and the late Malcolm Charlton, and Melanie Ridley and Peter Pisano. Fondly remembered by his cousins; Phaedra, Natalie, Jennifer, Luisa, Olivia, Douglas, Chris, David, Bethany, and Patrick.
Matthew had a curious mind and a creative spirit. He loved losing himself in music, often with his guitar in hand, and had a natural fascination with chemistry and how the world worked. A devoted fan of Star Trek, he was drawn to stories of exploration, possibility, and boldly going where few had gone before. Gaming brought him both challenge and connection, but some of his happiest moments were spent at home with his beloved cats — Mooski, Bertram, Gertie, and his late companion, Snifter — who held a very special place in his heart.
Matthew’s memorial service will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, SEAFORTH on Saturday, March 7th at 2 PM, followed by a celebration of his life.
A recording of Matthew’s service will be available on Sunday by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Schizophrenia Society of Canada or Adopt-A-Pet Rescue, Lucknow would be appreciated by the family.
The family wishes to thank Dr. C. Hudson, Dr. G. Stewart and Dr. M. Redding for their care, kindness and respect. Thank you to the amazing staff at the Seaforth Community Hospital for their dedication and compassion, along with Dr. John Pope, the OPP officers and fire department who provided so much support.
This absolutely breaks my heart! I am so sorry for the entire family and friends that were apart of Matthew’s life. I just remember having countless unforgettable memories spending time with Matthew and Frank. It has meant alot. Matthew had such a fierce love for music and that was something very special to share with him, we spent an invaluable amount of time listening to music that still resonates in my life today. I will always remember his pure joy for life and the laughs we shared together. I hope you can find the strength to get through this and find some sense of peace. I just can’t imagine what you are going through at this time. Again I am heartbroken for you, I can’t explain it in words but just know your family is in my heart at this time.
Sincerely, Matthew Elnor
My dear nephew, we will forever cherish the memories of your smile, laughter and your kind heart.

I love you Matthew with all my heart, you were the best Brother anyone could ever have. I’m really glad we were able to spend everyday together talking, laughing and listening to music enjoying each other’s company. You gave the best hugs and just wish that I could have said I love you one more time and maybe played some of the games we didn’t get to play yet or watch some of the movies we were going to watch or just enjoy some good ole Star Trek episodes.
Devastating, man. Much love sent to Matthew’s parents and Frankie, sending every thought and condolences.
Karen, Johnny and Frankie my sincerest condolences. Matthew is in good hands with the angels in heaven. May he rest in peace and may the three of you be at peace🙏🏽🪽

Dear Johnny, Karen, and Frankie,
Words can not express the sorrow we felt when we received the news of Matthew’s passing. He had so much more life to live. He was taken away from us too soon, too suddenly. You’ve been in our thoughts all of this past week, and will continue to be.
Love, Mike and Luciana
I am so saddened by your loss. Please accept my condolences and prayers.
This truly hurts the heart. Matt will always be remembered as a caring and genuine friend. Growing up, we created countless memories together – endless sleepovers, late-night video game sessions and many summers filled with laughter and adventure.
He had a way of bringing excitement and joy to the things he loved, from Warcraft and Yu-Gi-Oh! to Star Trek and so many video games. We spent countless hours together creating memories that will never fade
To Karen, John, and Frankie, I am truly sorry and heartbroken for your loss. I can’t imagine what you are going through, but please know your family is in my heart, thoughts, and prayers. I hope you can find some peace in knowing that Matt’s memory will always live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Some people pass through our lives, but the best ones leave a mark on our hearts forever – Matt was one of those people.
