I saw Elvey not so very long ago, in Stratford stopped at a light. I pulled up beside this big truck and glanced over and saw it was Elvey. He immediately rolled down his window and we had a quick chat. That is how I remember him, smiling and always ready to catch up. His positive disposition was infectious. It is truly sad that he is gone. He made the world a brighter place.

I recall shortly after starting at woodcock brothers so many years ago , it seemed like every truck I would meet on the road would shout on the cb “where is Elvey” or “say hi to Elvey” .
