EGGERT: Laura Venetta (Jackson) of Seaforth

Peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 of Seaforth, at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Norman Eggert (2019) for 69 years. Proud mother of Carole Eggert and George Hopf of Stratford, DJ Eggert of Bayfield, Lorna Eggert and Mark Knechtel of London, and Susanne and Stephan Evanitski of Keswick. Adored grandma of Ryann, Ethan, and Lauren Evanitski. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Grace McNichol, Peggy Jackson, and Harold Jackson. Laura will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by her parents John and Vera (Tremeer) Jackson, brothers, John and Wilfred Jackson and sister, Mary Whitehouse.

A private family funeral service will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, Seaforth on Friday, July 9th at 2 PM. Interment Egmondville Cemetery.

Donations to Egmondville United Church or the Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Lorna to your family it is a great loss to lose your father & now your mother. I remember her so much up at the lake whereby she spent many a day looking after Norm & always happy to see her children there. She had a long life and sadly she is now gone. My condolences to all of you.

I would like to express my sympathy to Laura’s family. Norman and my husband Edward were first cousins and we used to visit each other quite often when they lived on the farm near us. Dear Susanne and family, my sincere sympathy for the loss of your mom. I remember the first time I ever had stuffed peppers was when your mom made them. They were delicious. Your parents were always very welcoming anytime I stopped in at the cottage to visit.

To Laura’s family: I want you to know how much I enjoyed your Mothers company, well your Dad’s too. I did not know them until later in life, and through Egmondville UC, I got to visit several times. Both at their home and in the Manor. Maybe because I had a farm background, not sure but we did have lots to talk about. They left a high impression on me. I will always remember how they helped to shape my life. God Bless you and try to keep a little of them in yourselves.
