Condolences for the family of “Edward S. Ryan”

Condolence from Siobhan Kelly Gannon on June 3rd, 2010 7:03 PM

Today, though sad, I’ve found myself smiling as I’ve returned to my childhood remembering all the great times we had as kids because of Ed. Nothing will ever compare with the hay rides nor the hay lofts at his farm. As adults, he was always a pleasure to visit with as well as a gracious host. His memory lingers in so many places…a blender, barn wood, a wedge of cheese…and they are all make me smile.

God Bless You, Ed!

Condolence from Rob Sitarski son of Mary Ellen( Ryan )Sitarski- Fergus Ryan ( my Grandpa) on June 3rd, 2010 7:33 PM

The hayrides from the farm were the best. Eddie was generous and patient as we tumbled about during the ride and smothered each other in HAY! Thank you for the GRAND MEMORIES cousin Eddie. Rest in Peace.

Our famly extends our condolences to Ed’s family.Ed was one of those “good old boys” that one too seldom runs across in life any more.

My condolences to Jack, Frank and Jim on the loss of Ed.
Ed was a good friend of the Wards in London in our younger days.
My mother, Blanche Ward, played the organ at St. Pat’s Church in
Lucan when Harold and Cecelia were married.
Ed and I “stood up” with Grace and Don when they got married.
Sincere sympathy.

To the Family
Although Ed will be missed he won’t be suffering and he will be up looking down at us and his farm that he took great pride in.
Ed ploughed our garden for years and put great effort into it to make it right which we greatly appreciated. May he rest in peace.
Our deepest sympathy to all.

Condolence from Maureen Dwyer on June 5th, 2010 7:41 AM

It was with sadness that I read that Ed had died. I knew him in my capacity as Kensington Village Chaplain. Ed’s faith was always important to him and he lived it out every day. Ed was a real ‘gentleman’ and was thoughtful and caring. When he was skooting around he had a hello and a smile for everyone. Marie, I know he looked forward to your frequent visits. My prayers and sympathy are extended to Ed’s family. May fond memories temper the sadness.
Blessings.

To the Ryan Family:
We are sorry to learn of Ed’s passing. In my youth, I worked many Saturdays with Ed on his farm. He was a very good neighour and I recall many of his Friday night visits to our home on highway 23. Our thoughts and prays are with you at this time. I’m certain he is resting well.

Condolence from Harry and Tiny Van Boxmeer on June 6th, 2010 8:20 PM

We are sorry that we missed Ed’s funeral mass. The Van Bussel family moved to Canada 60 years ago and we lived in Hugh Toohey’s house across from the Ryan’s family home. Harry and I always saw Ed every Sunday at 9 o’clock mass at St. Patrick’s Church. We missed him when he moved to Kensington’s Nursing Home. Last Sunday they prayed for Ed in Church. We had the intention to visit him but unfortunately we were too late. We wanted to let you know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and they we extend sincere condolences for your loss.

I was unable to attend Ed’s funeral due to work commitments. Ed is fondly remembered for the rides to and from school if he was coming back and forth from the Mackey farm. It was great excitement for all the neighours when Ed had those barn dances. He had a lot of work to prepare but how we young kids love the fun of those dances. He always had a quick smile and a hearty laugh. Another of a generation gone from Highway 23.
