In my memories of Uncle Charlie, I remember him as a very quiet, hard working man. Always with Grampa working. I remember in the mid 70’s Uncle Charlie showed me around his new house. He and Grampa were vacuuming , he hadn’t move in yet. I was very impressed he took the time to spend with me. I also remember his 67 or 68 Pontiac 2 plus 2, red with a black vinyl roof. 2 door. Probably a 327 cubic Inch. What a beautiful car. I am sure Uncle Charlie had the green tree car freshener hanging in his car and to this day, I continue that tradition.
We are so happy we were able to see him at Mom’s (Cecilia Tocker) funeral. Rest peacefully Uncle Charlie.

Condolence from Lorne and Cathy (Tocker) Gregoraschuk on April 15th, 2020 12:05 AM

Dear Aunt Marilyn and Family,

We are so sorry to hear about Uncle Charlie. Our thoughts and prayers and love are with all of you.

I have a special memory of Uncle Charlie that I would like to share with you. This took place over 50 years ago so I am not sure if Uncle Charlie ever told you about the niece that fell from the second floor to the first floor in Grandpa Ducharme’s barn but that niece was me. Our family was visiting Grandma and Grandpa Ducharme and the children were all playing in Grandpa’s barn, on the second floor. We all knew the floor trapdoor was open and I was standing right in front of it. But as brothers like to scare their little sisters, one of my brothers scared me with a pretend mouse. That’s when I stepped backwards and down I went, to the first floor, landing in some cow manure. By this time the adults were quickly notified. I can still see this next part like it was yesterday. The first person to my rescue was Uncle Charlie in his stocking feet. He usually had such a tan on his face but he was as white as could be. He was also the most important person in the world to me at that moment because I knew that I was going to be okay with his help, and concern and especially the love shown to me by him.

May your memories bring you comfort.

Love Lorne and Cathy (Tocker) Gregoraschuk
