Condolence from Walter Fydenchuk on July 25th, 2011 10:26 AM

My sincere condolences to the family. Your father was the first person that I met In Exeter, when i arrived here in 1967 to organze the Technical Department at the high school. I went to his barber shop for a hair cut. His friendly and sincere demeanor in welcoming me into the community , developed into a friendship that extended from that first meeting and continued, into his retirement at Queensway Retirement Home.
With sadness and sincerety, Walter Fydenchuk

Condolence from Ray and Judy Mills on July 25th, 2011 3:31 PM

Please accept our deepest sympathy. We are on a holiday and I just read the obituary on-line a couple of minutes ago. I am so sorry to hear the news. I know it is not easy to see our parents go from their home to a nursing facility but we have no control over such things. All we can do is support them, which I know you have done to the utmost. Hopefully your memories of better days and good times will help to ease your grief. Know also that we are thinking of you and praying or you. God bless.
Most Sincerely,
Ray and Judy

Condolence from Joe scoles on August 3rd, 2015 10:17 PM

I just noticed this sad passing of Doug in 2011. I have very fond and gratefull memories of Doug at Centralia in the early 1950s. I also worked for Doug as a part time barber and remember Doug as a great mentor to one of limited experience. My last memory of Doug was during a visit to Summerside PEI in the early 1970s, Doug parked his trailernearby and I recall a great visit with him, the highlight being a flight together in my private aircraft.

Rest in peace Doug,
Joe scoles

Condolence from Joe Scoles on October 4th, 2016 10:21 PM

Please accept my heartfelt condolences, rather late as I just found this website. I have fond memories of Doug as I worked for him in my spare evenings at the Centralia barber shop, 1948 to 1953. I remember the little kids and the wonderful home cooking during festive seasons when I was often invited to have dinner.

The last visit I had with Doug was during his visit to PEI, about 1972. As usual, lots of stories, fond memories and I took him for a flight around the Island.
Again , sincere condolences to the family on the loss of such wonderful parents. Joe Scoles Ottawa
