Condolence from Carolanne Doig on September 2nd, 2016 1:00 PM

Joan and families and close friends of Don – my family and I extend to you all our sincere sympathy. As you know, Don was a long time member of Seaforth Golf Club and contributed to the club greatly over the years by sponsoring trophies, playing in events, and organizing the Senior League and many Legion Golf Tournaments. He loved his golf and his great friendship with our Bermuda buddies was something we all enjoyed and celebrated. In recent years we missed his morning visits for coffee and the “local news” and we will always remember him as an iconic member of Seaforth Golf Club.

Condolence from Nancy Kunder Malachowski on September 3rd, 2016 11:00 AM

Please accept my sincere condolences, Joan. You not only lost your husband, but also your best friend. It was never hard to see that. Joan. The last time I saw you and Don was at my dad&&single&&s funeral, and Don was devastated at the loss of his friend. Don was my dad&&single&&s best friend for many years, and their silly banter always made those around them laugh. They sure loved their Bermuda golfing trips, but the Seaforth golf course was home for them both. I recall the many visits on Saturday mornings with my dad to the insurance office to catch up on the week&&single&&s news. I always loved when my dad would take me to your home, and I always asked my dad if he could trade homes with you. Dad would say that if I worked hard, maybe someday I could have a nice house like that. It was my favourite home in Seaforth/Egmondville. There is no doubt in my mind that my Dad was there to greet Don in heaven with golf clubs and a drink in hand, and he will be well cared for. Unfortunately my illness makes it difficult to travel. Joan, but know my heart is there with you during this very difficult time. Hugs.
