We are so saddened and shocked by the news of Evan’s accident and the loss of your son. I have many fond memories of Evan and of all the kids growing up on the farm. One particular time stands out in my mind as I write to you today. Julia came to me quite frantic as she could not find Evan anywhere on the farm. I joined the search and found him comfortably relaxing on the couch watching my TV at my house! Evan was a great kid with a wonderful way of making you smile. He will be missed. So very sorry for your loss.

To the entire Dickins family – I am so sorry to hear of Evan’s passing. I taught Evan geography in Grade 9 at SHDHS, and he did the 30 Hour Famine in 2009. I especially remember him volunteering to help bring out the drinks for the students during the Famine, and mixing up the Gatorade and McDonald’s orange concoction. No words I can offer will adequately ease your grief, but I hope that happy memories of a fine young man, and the love and support of family and friends will help you during this difficult time.
