Condolence from Flo Keillor on December 12th, 2020 12:55 PM

Dear Millie,
I was saddened to read of Morley’s passing. I met Morley when I taught at HCS. In 1985 we took my grade 8 class on an overnight trip to Camp Sylvan. Morley had been on this trip many times and was so kind to me, a city girl, who had never seen a covered wagon! We later enjoyed many chats in the senior hall and in the staff room. My thoughts are with you and your family. May your memories of happy times brighten the days ahead.
Sincerely,
Flo Keillor

I was a student of Mr. Dejardine in Huron Centennial School. I liked his calm, quiet manner and remember the year we had him for Geography, he got married. It was an age that I didn’t think teachers had lives outside of school so it was quite a surprise for me when I heard that. I remember him teaching all the capitals of the US states and Canadian provinces and territories. I recall having a test on that and I got 100% on it but noticed I had made an error. I brought it to his attention but he said my 100% mark stayed because he hadn’t noticed the error. Great teacher.
