DENOMY: Scott of Chatham, formerly of Lucan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Scott Denomy, of Chatham, formerly of Lucan at the age of 54. Scott passed suddenly while on vacation in Florida on Friday, December 9, 2022. Cherished by his loving partner Jackie Smith. Proud father of Tyson, Joshua, and Corey Patrick, and their supportive loving mother Jacqueline Patrick. He embraced as his own Taylor and Storm Smith, Kennedy Rock (predeceased by dearly loved and missed Diane Rock). Beloved son of Janice Denomy, and John Denomy (Linda Malcolm). Dear brother and brother-in-law of Chris Denomy, Melissa and Tim Hayter, John Malcolm, and Carrie and William Charlton. Remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews Mac and Alanna Hayter; Ashley, Logan, and Willow Patrick; and Zoey Charlton and step siblings Bill and Teresa Burns.

Scott had a lifelong passion for hockey, baseball, and golf. He was a pillar in the community as a proud hockey coach. In the last few years, he had grown to enjoy getting out of town and exploring while also enjoying travel to other countries and cities. One of his greatest successes was becoming Partner at the BDO accounting firm. Above all, family & friends were most important to Scott, and he was happiest when he had everyone around.

Always loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Sunday from 1 – 4 PM. Registration is required and appreciated. Please click “Register Now” below to register.

Jan, Chris & Melissa and family,

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about Scott passing away. I always had it on my bucket list to reconnect with Scott and rekindle the friendship we had back in Highschool. I truly regret that I will not have that opportunity. Scott was the definition of what a true friend is. I will never forget when he was with us the night the St. Mary’s Bantam team won the All Ontario Bantam B championships. Even though he had 6 pins in his leg, nothing was going to keep him from getting on the fire truck for the ride around St. Mary’s. My family and I will keep each of you and our families in our prayer’s. God Bless!!

Sherrie and I would like to offer our deepest condolences.
I met Scott when I was 16 playing for the Lucan Irish.
He was an older player on the team that I really looked up to.
He treated me as a friend and with respect from the beginning.
I was lucky enough to coach with Scott a few years later when our daughters played hockey on the same team for that season.( we might have shared a beer or two in the process)
A true leader and friend.
Rest in absolute peace #9

Dear Corey and Scott’s family,

Words can’t express the loss and heartbreak of losing Scott. He made my childhood a better place with hockey and driving Corey and I to school on nights when she and I would sleepover at her house. He took really great care of everyone on our hockey team. He always made us laugh, he made sure we were having fun and working hard at the same time and he always had the warmest smile on his face. I always loved the environment he’d create for our team, it always made me feel so happy.

Corey I love you so much, you mean the absolute world to me and your family has brought so much joy and light to mine and my families lives. I’m really glad I got to know your dad, and I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss.
