At London Health Sciences Centre,University Campus on Wednesday, August 20, 2003 Delton A. (Fink) Finkbeiner of Exeter in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Norma (Parsons) Finkbeiner (1999) for 56 years. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Eugene and Nonie Finkbeiner of Thornton, Howard and Doreen Holtzmann of Exeter, Marg Parsons of Troy, Michigan, Sadie Parsons of Exeter and June Parsons of Markham. Especially missed by Lossy Fuller, her children Launa Leigh, Cathy Cronyn, Gail Murray, Jeff  Fuller and their families. Dear uncle of Christine MacKay, Maureen Smith, Paul Finkbeiner, Michael Finkbeiner, David Holtzmann, Heather McArter, Janis Pratt, Brad Parsons, Ross Parsons Jr., Nancy Kuranyi, Brenda Parsons, Debbie Farr, Lisa Parsons, Pam Storozuk and Paul Parsons. Predeceased by his parents Joe and Hilda Finkbeiner, and brothers-in-law Harry, Ross and Charles Parsons. Fink, as he was known to many  was always active in horse related activities having served up to 50 years on the horse committee of 4 major fairs and several Arabian horse shows. He was a life member of Canadian Arabian Registry and Arabian Horse Association of Eastern Canada,  Horse Person of the year in 1987 and 1988, made a member of the Agricultural Hall of Fame in 1977 and will be long remembered for his contribution to the success of the Exeter Rodeo. Fink received a provincial award from the Minister of Citizenship, The Hon. Herb Gray in 1997 and all who attended said it was a memory filled day. In South Huron he was chosen Citizen of the year in 2002 for persons over 65, at a time when he was 82 and glad to be alive. He received a plaque and medallion to commemorate the Queen’s visit to Canada in 2002 and was also the recipient of 50 year membership pins from Exeter Lodge #133 and the Oddfellows in Exeter and was a member of Scottish Rite and the Exeter Legion. At Delton?s request there will be no funeral home visitation. A memorial service will be held at Crediton United Church on Sunday, August 31st at 2 PM with Rev. Sheila Mcgregor officiating. Interment has taken place at Crediton Cemetery. Donations to the Crediton United Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Hopper Hockey Funeral Home (235-1220), 370 William Street, Exeter entrusted with arangements.
