Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at West Perth Village, Mitchell on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the age of 76. Cherished husband of Paula (Savory) Deering for 54 years. Proud dad of Andrea Deering Nagy and Tom Nagy, Kathleen Deering, and Susanna Deering and Sébastien Fox. Loving grandpa of Phoenix, Larkyn, Gryphon, Gavin, Sebastian; Ty, Brady; and Coen. Dear brother of Mike and Agnes Deering, Matt Deering, and brother-in-law of Gwynne Cafik, and Dawn Lefakis. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Bud and Mary Deering, brother Paul Deering, and mother-in-law Hilda Humeniuk.
Dave had many interests that brought joy and meaning to life. A lover of golf and sports of all kinds, he also enjoyed outings to the theatre and time spent exploring art galleries. Travelling was another passion, offering new places and experiences to appreciate. Dave was both friendly and sociable and will be fondly remembered for the warmth and kindness shared with others. You could find Dave sitting on the front porch because you just never know who you might meet. Above all, Dave cherished the time and activities he spent with his family.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at the Seaforth Golf Course, 42990 Front Road, SEAFORTH on Saturday, October 25th from 2 – 4 PM. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations to West Perth Village in Dave’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
Paula,
Thinking of you and your family. So sorry to hear David passed.
Paula,
My sympathies to you and your family. I remember David making us tea in your house on John Street after yoga. He didn’t seem to mind these random ladies trotting up to the upper level for exercise and knew just when to have the tea ready at the end of the session.
Jeannette Finnigan (also at the library)

So sorry to hear this news. Heartfelt condolences to everyone.
Mrs Deering,
I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of Mr Deering. He has always been a kind and caring man, and made me feel welcome with your family. He will be greatly missed.
Andrea, Kathleen, and Susanna,
It was always evident to me when we were growing up, how much your dad adored the three of you. He beamed when looking at all of you. As we got older the pride deepened and stretched out to include your babies. At Andrea’s wedding, he told me all about how wonderful you all were and how great his grandkids were. He was so proud!
I am so sorry that you have all lost him. My thoughts and love to you all.
Paula and family: We are very sorry to hear that Dave has passed away. He was always positive at our meetings. He will be missed by all his friends and family. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Paula and family,
We have missed Dave’s smiling face at the golf course these past years and I know his golfing buddies missed him even more. We are very sorry for your loss.
Paula and family –
Our sincere condolences .
We are so sorry for your loss.
Paula I worked with Dave some 50 years ago at TCPL and remember him as a very kind and gentle man. Our paths crossed a few times after that as he was in the insurance business. I know he was cherished by all he touched. I also remember meeting you at a couple of company functions. Blessings to you and your family.
Paula, I’m so sorry to see about David. He was such a friendly man.
