With loved ones by his side, at the Exeter Villa, on Monday, July 18, 2016, of Exeter in his 89th year. Best friend and loving partner of Lynda Johns. Missed by his children Janet and Tim DeActis, Susan Mayhew, and Jeff and Anita Davis, and their mother Elizabeth Davis. Dear grandfather of Mark (Brianne), Jeff (Tawnya), Stephen (Natasha), Patrick (Shannon), Scott, Caroline, Kurt; and great-grandfather of five. Dear brother of Bob and Maureen Davis. Hugh will also be missed by Lynda’s family. Predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Davis (2008), Marion Taylor (2016) and her husband Grant, and his parents Ernest and Edith (Brock) Davis. Hugh was the manager of the Exeter PUC for 37 years, and worked for Ontario Hydro prior to that. He was dedicated to the town of Exeter, always wanting the best utilities for its residents. He always spoke very highly of his staff, and would always remark that the efficiency of the PUC was due to the commission and staff he worked with. Hugh’s family would also like to thank the Exeter Villa for their support of Hugh.
Private family arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter. Cremation with inurnment Exeter Cemetery.
Donations to the Exeter Villa, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Hugh was a good boss and I have many memories of my time working at the P.U.C.

Sincere condolences to the Davis family and also to Linda and her family. Memories of Hugh are through working, many years at the PUC and Ontario Hydro.
To the Davis family and Lynda and family, You have our sympathy on the loss of Hugh. I remember how he treated my parents with kindness, when they lived above the PUC . He had to open the bathroom window from the outside, when 2 of our daughters (2 and 4)locked themselves in the bathroom!He was always friendly. He did his “job” with the PUC with foresight.
