COOK: Debbra Lenn (Dale) of Exeter formerly of Blyth
Posted By Haskett Funeral Home On October 21, 2020 @ 6:25 PM In Exeter,Obituary | 75 Comments
After a courageous 6 year battle with ovarian cancer, Debbie passed peacefully at home with her family by her side on October 20, 2020 at the age of 58. Beloved wife and best friend of Stephen Cook for 39 years. Adored mother of Michelle and Kyle Courtney of Exeter and Darcey and Kandace Cook of Lucan. Grandma to Lucas, Logan, Lincoln; Sophia and Hannah. Sister to Susan and Barry Bromley of Blyth, Tresa Bromley and Linda Lamont of Elmwood, Gordon and Kathy Dale of Whitechurch and Ernie Dale and Maryanne Fitzgerald of Central Huron. Debbie will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her infant son James Leslie Cook (1985), Father Leslie Dale (2003), and Mother Shirley (Graham) Dale (2018).
Debbie spent most of her life caring for others, right up to the time of her passing. She was always thinking about the needs of others and putting the needs of herself last. Most important in Debbie’s life was her children and grandchildren. She would never miss an opportunity to cheer them on whether it be in athletics, academics or just finding their way through life. Debbie was a motherly figure to many that weren’t her own, she was only a call away for a late night ride and never forgot to make everyone’s special recipes. Debbie was the queen of organizing, from her massive lists to ensuring she had everything you need, it was hard to know how she could keep so many things but if you needed it, she had it.

Our sincere sympathy on your immense loss. We have happy memories of Debbie from the Saugeen Maitland hockey days. I also used to chat with her at the clinic in Clinton. She was always so friendly and easy to talk to as we caught up with each other’s family news. Thinking of all of you.
Our paths crossed often. The first time we met was at prenatal classes. From there our paths often crossed at Scrimgeour’s, broomball and the hearing centre. What a welcoming person she was and what a wonderful smile she always had for everyone.
