Dear Murray family,

Clare was such a special person and I am honoured to have known her – she was warm, kind, generous, fun-loving and free-spirited. She was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation. We used to stay up till all hours of the night talking about everything imaginable – that was part of her charm. We had so much fun together during law school, and she is a part of so many of my best memories. I will never forget her contagious enthusiasm, her wide smile and the sound of her laugh.

It is with great sadness that the Faculty of Law learned of the untimely passing of Clare. My colleagues and I remember her as a smart and luminous woman, full of kindness and a desire to use her legal skills to support non-adversarial dispute resolution. Please accept my condolences and those of all professors and staff members at McGill University&&single&&s Faculty of Law.

Clare was my student at the McGill law faculty and she kept in contact over the years as she pursued her career. She was a thoughtful and sensitive person with great promise. She wrote to me earlier this year for a letter of reference for a human rights position in Jerusalem. I am deeply saddened to hear about her sudden passing and express heartfelt sympathies to her family and loved ones. I know that she touched the lives of her classmates and teachers and we all pray for her precious soul.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. The life you shared with Clare will always be part of you, and all that she gave to this world will live on. May the thoughts and prayers of all of us who care bring you peace as you grieve.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Clare&&single&&s passing. Although I only met some of you briefly, I felt like I knew you all for how much Clare spoke of you. I&&single&&m sure you all know how near and dear you were in her heart. My heart goes out to all of you.

Clare lived life with an excitement that was contagious and beautiful to witness. It extended from her aspirations in life all the way to mundane things like getting coffee. Her ready smile and infectious laugh still seem so fresh in my memory.

I am a former teacher of Jeanne Sauve School and although I did not have the opportunity to teach Clare I do remember she was a wonderful, intelligent student with a bright smile. Our paths crossed again two years ago when she came to my home to tutor my daughter, Jillian after she experienced a brain injury. Her support helped her through a very difficult time by helping her with school. Clare always had a way of cheering Jillian up by taking her for lunch, pedicures and just being a good listener. Her kindness will never be forgotten!
