Posted By Haskett Funeral Homes On January 8, 2025 @ 10:05 AM In Lucan,Obituary | 36 Comments

September 4, 1949- January 4, 2025
With great sadness the family wishes to announce the passing of Diane (Cooper) Chillingworth, on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 75 years of age.
Beloved wife and best friend of David. Loving mother of Greg McAuley (Gina) of White Lake, Jeff McAuley (Paula) of Goderich, and step-mother of Holly (Terry Jordan) of Courtice, and Carri Chillingworth of Oshawa. Cherished Grandmother of Meghan (Marc), Rob, Rachel, Natalie, Paul (Tatiana), Elliott, Mark David and Ashley, and Great-Grandmother of Cruz, Kinsley and Mack. Sister of Susan (Rod McGregor), and predeceased by her brother, Robert Cooper (Eleanor), her sister, Norma and her parents Ken and Betty Cooper.
Diane was a thoughtful, fun and very loving person. She was often teased about her lack of height which she made up for with her sense of humour and kind soul. She was a wonderful wife and Gramma. Nothing made her happier than spending time outdoors, especially in her tree stand, in full camo, with her crossbow trying to ‘catch’ a deer. Later in life, she went back to school to continue her education graduating Valedictorian of her class, and began working at Carolina Suites which she was very proud of. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the Perth Hospital. She loved the Ottawa Senators and would decorate her house for the playoffs. Go Sens Go!
Special thanks to Margaret, Ken and Sharon, Sherri, and Jennifer. Many thanks to the wonderful care at Huronview Home.
Burial and Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
Donations can be made to Huronview Home for the Aged in Clinton, Ontario in Diane’s memory.
Our thoughts and Prayers go out to her family God Bless
Sincere Condolences on your great loss.

My beautiful, soft spoken, pint-sized aunt made everyone around her feel loved and valued and special. Her life of laughter, adventure and achievement is something to be admired. I will cherish all the recent visits to Rideau Ferry & Clinton, reminiscing about the past, weighing in on the present and always landing on our beloved Sens. Thank you for that big bright smile; for as long as I can remember this was your signature greeting to all lucky loved ones. In more recent days, thank you for that caring grip while holding your hand on lovey walks and visiting in your room.
There’s sadness in losing her here with us but there’s joy in knowing she’s now singing with Uncle Bob while he plays guitar, Papa is listening with pride and Granny is loving them all with food & drink.
Rest in Peace Aunt Diane, Go Sens Go!
Love “Jenny Faye” & Brian
xoxo
