John Dougald Campbell passed peacefully at his home in London on March 27, 2020, in his 92nd year. Beloved father of John Revington (London) and Janice Elaine (Toronto) who will remain in their hearts always. Loving grandfather to Stephanie Margaret. Predeceased by brother Archie T. Campbell, sister Katherine Campbell and brother-in-law Carlyle (Mary Therese) Revington. John was a wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews.

John was born March 29, 1928 and raised in Cowal, son of J. Douglas Campbell and Alda (McCallum) Campbell. He was a member and former elder of Oakridge Presbyterian Church. John loved and was loved by his family and friends. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude for the care he received from Paramed PSWs, including Keith, Monica and Marie who became part of his extended family, St. Elizabeth nurses, and medical staff at London Health Sciences Centre.

A private family graveside service will be held at St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye, on March 31, 2020.  Haskett Funeral Home, LUCAN (519-227-4211) entrusted with arrangements. A public celebration of life will be held in the future when family and friends are able to gather and share love, support and hugs.

Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Condolence from Janet and Dale Mackness on March 30th, 2020 10:31 AM

You already know that Dale and I are so sorry about your dad’s passing. We, of course, watched the health workers coming and going and were so grateful for all the help that these faithful workers gave to him. Still, it was a shock to hear the news from you that day. I remember the day, Janice, when we first met you soon after we moved next door to your dad. We sat in our living room and, after talking for some time, it started to dawn on us that Dale’s mom and dad bought the house that was the house you and John lived in with your mom and dad on Green Lane so many years ago. Remember that afternoon? Ever since then, we have had a connection with your family. That connection has grown despite the circumstances that kept your dad inside most of the time we have known him. We were always glad to be able to help when he needed us. While this time is so hard, it is wonderful to know that your Dad knew how much he was loved.

Condolence from Elizabeth Tomik on March 30th, 2020 12:12 PM

Your Dad was a kind, gentle and loving man. Thinking about you and your family and sending you our prayers during this terrible time of loss.
