Condolence from John Groot on July 14th, 2022 6:57 PM

Elaine and I meet William thru the Smart car club in London . We both went to many smartcar get togethers and event State side. I remember when we were in Kansas City and William did a computer remap so his little diesel had more power. Indeed it did but it smoked awful and you did not want to be behind him. He was a very nice person and very knowledgeable

Condolence from Robin Eck on July 15th, 2022 4:02 AM

To William’s family. 7/15/22. I am just receiving info of William’s passing. My husband and I are quite saddened. We met him through the Smart car rallies. We attended one event that included seeing Mackinac Island, He walked around w/ us. We enjoyed it greatly. He was a few years older than our son who he reminded us of. The other time that stands out was when his car broke down in Dayton Ohio. My husband helped get him around the days he was stuck here. They had a good time seeing places in Dayton that he would not have seen if not for the breakdown. We had hoped to see him again at one of the rallies. Sadly, we won’t. I’m not sure how the info was passed to the Smart car community. But thanks for letting us know. He was a great guy. Wise beyond his years. Never could figure why he hung w/ us old people. But am glad he did. Take care.
