BRINTNELL: Edith Laura Mary (Craig) of Exeter

October 31, 1938 – August 25, 2025
Edith passed away peacefully at home in Exeter on Monday, August 25, 2025 in her 87th year. She is predeceased by her husbands, James Daniel (D. Aug. 25, 1974), Kenneth Bowen (D. Sept. 24, 1985), and John Brintnell (D. Mar. 22, 2006); her parents Ernest & Beatrice Craig; siblings Arthur Craig, Robert Craig, Dorothy Ponlot & Ethel Craig; sisters-in law Hazel Craig and Sandra Craig; as well as her stepson Tom Bowen. She is survived by her brother Norman Craig, sister-in-law Helen Craig, stepsons and daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Edith was born, and grew up in, Stoneham, Quebec. In her own words, she lived “an interesting and full 86 1/2 years” where she lived in various parts of the world including Germany and Gander, Newfoundland until she finally settled in Exeter in 1981.
In accordance with Edith’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service or memorial. Her remains will be returned to her birthplace and will rest alongside her husband, James Daniel.
Donations to the South Huron Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Our love and sympathy to all the family on the loss of your Aunt Edith. We only met her a couple of times but she seemed quite a character.
My condolence to Edith’s family and friends, she was a good friend of my Moms. They has lots of laughs while in the same apartment building.

My deepest condolences to Edith’s Family. I first met Edith at Dining for Seniors, and we have seen each other often when out running errands and always chatted. She was a lovely lady. RIP.
Edith’s Family, My thoughts are with you at this time of sorrow. I met and Played bridge with her. She was also a Foot Care client and friend. I have many memories.
Words cannot express how saddened we are at the loss of Edith. We are so grateful she came into our lives and that we were able to get to know her so well over the years. Her wit, huge heart and her many many life stories will always be remembered by us. She was an amazing lady that will never be forgotten!

My Sympathy to all of Edith’s Family. Edith & Ken lived right next door to Keith & I for a number of yrs, Beautiful neighbours & we enjoyed a lot of interesting conversations. Always enjoyed little talks at grocery store. She will be missed by all who knew her.

My condolences to all Edith’s family. I met Edith through my mother Belva Rowe as they were friend. I used to pick Edith up to play cards.
