Throughout many years we enjoyed having Manfred and his wife Ursel as dear neighbours and friends. Manfred made beautiful bird houses to mark our docking spaces on the Ausable River and managed, with Ursel, to help our young family at that time to maintain this area we shared behind their home. Over the months of Manfred’s illness we have been blessed to spend more time with Manfred learning so much of his life experiences and of his many skills and talents. He was an avid reader of books and became knowledgeable about many of the areas of study he read about. We found him to be such an intelligent gentleman with a great sense of humour when you found him in the mood to show the more playful side of his personality. Ray and I will take with us most the memory of his love and devotion to his wife Ursel in their 53 years of marriage and her amazing dedication to Manfred and the care she gave to him. To Ursel, Susie, Markus and their families we send our deepest condolences on the loss of this unique and charismatic man. May you rest in eternal peace, Manfred. We will think of you often.

Dear Ursel, Susie, Markus and your families,
So thankful to have enjoyed Manfred’s sense of humour, and the great perspective that he and also Ursel would share during our Bible study nights. Our hearts are sad, and we will miss this great family member of Zion. We pray God comforts you with the blessed assurance of salvation for the peace and strength He will provide during these days ahead.
Hugs, Bob and Doris Osgood
