Dearest Mrs. Mitchell (Nancy), Nanc & Norm and Brian, Matthew. Bill Mitchell and Kyla & Liem: Our most deepest condolences for your great loss.

Doug and I have such wonderful and fond memories of your hubby, dad and grandfather.

A truly gentle and kind sole.

With Doug & Bill being close growing up – Doug speaks of some great times with Mr. Mitchell.

We will remember how dedicated and caring a couple in marriage the Mitchell&&single&&s were and of course, our Nanc – how very special a &&single&&daddy&&single&& he was to you.

We fondly remember Mr. Mitchell and how he referred to friends as “Pal”.

We are better people knowing this lovely man and of the family who always surrrounded him.

Thinking of you now and often, Pal.
With love, Doug, Corinna and children.

Condolence from Liam on April 16th, 2015 7:00 PM

Last week, I lost a friend. Last week, I lost one of my heroes. Last week, I lost a grandfather. I wish I could have said so much more the last time I saw him. I wanted to thank him for fighting in the war. I wanted to thank him for teaching me so much in my life time. But most of all, I wanted to thank him for being my grandfather. I miss you more and more each passing day and things won&&single&&t be the same without you here. But hopefully soon, we will meet again. I love you Papa. I always will.
R.I.P.

Condolence from Kyla Mitchell on April 23rd, 2015 11:00 AM

Dear Papa,

It has been a few weeks since you have passed away and we are all missing you. You were a hero to us all and your bravery will never be forgotten. What I will remember most is your love of reading and how your kindness and gentle nature served as a gravitational pull, suddenly, we were all your “pals.” Over the years you have taught us many things, one that you specifically, mastered: The art of being cheeky and kind simultaneously. More recently, you have taught us one of the most valuable lessons in life, that happiness is being content with what has been given to and taken from you.

I hope that somewhere you are able to read these messages and either smile or stick your tongue out at us. Either one is good!

We were lucky to know you, and even luckier to call you our “papa.” Thank you for all of the lessons and cherished memories.

Your pal for always,
Kyla

xoxo

Aunt Nancy, Alex, Nancy, Bill and families, I have been thinking about Uncle Bill since I heard the news. Most often I smiled and I found myself calling people “Pal” a lot! He was always a very special uncle. He is with my mom and his brothers now! can you imagine the scene. Take care, Michael and my thoughts are with you all. Love Nan
