BELL: Jim of Exeter

On Monday, February 7, 2022 after a short illness at South Huron Hospital, James “Jim” Bell of Exeter in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Liz” (Falconer) Bell for 55 years. Cherished father of David (Lenore) of Kitchener, Brenda of London, and Andrea (Kamel) of Bluewater. Proud grandpa of Nathan (Candis), Eric, Owen, Kaleb, and Hannah. Thrilled great grandpa of Finley and Logan. Dear brother-in-law of Kate and Jim Keys of Varna, Bill and Edith Falconer of Clinton, Donna Regier of Guelph, Joanne Bell of Hensall, and Bev Bell of Exeter. Predeceased by infant son Jeffery James Bell, parents Roy and Ruby (Stone) Bell, sister and brother-in-law Marg and Harry Torrence, and brothers Murray, Spike and Bill Bell.

Jim was born and raised in Hensall Ontario- the oldest of Roy and Ruby Bell’s four sons. After marrying Liz, the couple moved to Exeter, started their family, and made Exeter their home.

You may remember Jim from his years at “the Canners” or Accumold. Perhaps you bowled or curled with him. Over the years Jim could be found accompanying his three children to hockey, baseball, figure skating and swimming. Jim was content accompanying his wife Liz to her various social functions as well as enjoyed tuning in to Hockey Night in Canada during the winter months and the Blue Jays games in the summer. Jim also very much enjoyed attending and playing Crokinole and Solo organized in the community. Jim will be fondly remembered as a hard worker who gave his all at work and to his wife and children.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, EXETER on Friday evening from 6-8 PM. Due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions, each person must RSVP for the visitation. Please click “Register Now” below, to register. A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 12th at 11 AM. Cremation to follow, with interment Exeter Cemetery.

Donations to the South Huron Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

Condolence from George Campbell on March 29th, 2022 5:33 PM

Dear Liz

So sorry to read about Jims passing!
We seem to have lost many connections with our move to the Tillsonburg area, shortly after my Dad’s passing. Jim’s cousin Neil Campbell.
As you know, those 4 Bell boys were Dad’s adopted Brothers!
I just stumbled on this Obit, when looking for a different one.
It kind of startled me to note the date of passing, as it was same as dad’s.
Feb.7 was also dads birthday.
My e-mail address is attached if they will forward it to you.

A Big Hug from the Campbell’s.

George
