With her family by her side at Sprucedale Care Centre, Strathroy, Marie passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2026 in her 91^st year. Beloved wife of the late Jack Bannon (2017).  Loving mother of Colleen and John Zrini, Murray Bannon and Kelli Cartwright, Paul Bannon and Karen McNeill Bannon, Laurie Bannon and Art Gregory, Lisa and John Hedley, and Mark Bannon and Jennifer Meyer.  Beloved Grandmother and Nana of Shanna (Wyatt), Reanne (Chris); Matthew (Jessica), Patrick, Joseph, Jack (Annalea); Max (Nicole), Greg (Samantha); Jamie (Stefanie), Julia (Nick); Jordan (Sara), Lukas (Josée); Jacob, and Evan and three precious great-grandchildren Clara, Harrison; and Nora. Dear sister-in-law of Sharon Bannon and Sandra Bannon. Predeceased by her parents John and Mary (Jordan) Costello and her 10 cherished siblings.

Proudly born and raised on the family farm near Kennicott, Ontario, Marie spent her youth learning domestic responsibilities from her mother and enlivening the home with music she so beautifully played on the family piano. Although Marie held many titles throughout her life, including administrator, family historian, and trusted confidant, her greatest role was being the matriarch of her family. Her biggest joy was spending time with the people she loved most. She was the heart of her family, bringing everyone together with her love, kindness, and support. It is comforting to know that she is reunited with her one true love, Jack.

Many thanks to the Sprucedale Care Centre’s outstanding staff who cared so deeply for our mother.

Visitation will be held at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Friday from 6-9 PM.   Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the 11 AM Funeral Mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Catholic Church, 1 Fallons Lane, LONDON on Saturday, June 20^th. Private family interment Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend at a later date.
