Eileen, aged 83, passed away peacefully on October 04, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her beloved cottage in Bluewater. Born to Eileen & Jack Fellows on March 03, 1942, in Goderich, Eileen’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Charlie Baker. Loving mom of Marilyn (John) Van Maren and Marie (Shane) McKeen. Proud Nana of Allison, Kailey (Spencer), Emily (Brandin) and Carter.
After raising her own family, Eileen returned to school to become an Early Childhood Educator and spent many fulfilling years shaping young minds and inspiring a love for learning as a pre-school teacher.
Eileen’s warm and friendly nature made it easy for her to form lasting friendships wherever she went. She was a kind and gentle soul who gave the best hugs.
The family wishes to express appreciation to all those who provided assistance in caring for Eileen in her home and extend a special thank you to our home care nurse, Charlene, whose expertise, warmth and genuine caring made all the difference at this difficult time.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Wednesday, October 8th from 4 – 6 PM.
Eileen’s Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 73334 Bluewater Highway, Zurich (St. Joseph) on Thursday, October 9th at 11 AM. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Donations to the Alzheimer Society Huron Perth or Alzheimer Society Dufferin County would be appreciated by the family.
so sorry to hear about Mrs. Baker(Eileen), whom I still call her.
I still can’t after all these years being your next door neighbor in Orangeville call both Eileen and Charlie by their first names.
Even at 58 yrs old when I see them at their home in Orangeville, I still call them Mr and Mrs Baker. They both always said, you can call us by our first names. I always say,’ I can’t. It’s weird.’
lol
I’ve known the Bakers all my life and she’ll be missed.
deeply sorry for your loss.

Such a kind and gentle lady. I met Eileen at school. Even at the end of a long day when I picked up the kids Tom and Jess, after work she had a warm smile on her face.
Our deepest sympathies to Charlie, Marilyn and Marie and families. Eileen was such a lovely person and a great neighbour for 60 years, we will always remember her fondly.
Mr. Baker and family. So sorry for you loss. Mrs. Baker was such a wonderful lady, so kind. She was always so friendly and always wanted to hear how Andrew and Zachary were doing. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. Mrs. Baker will be missed. Andrew, Elizabeth and Zachary Russell
Six or seven years ago, while attending an Art Show at McKay Hall in Goderich, I was approached by Eileen who identified herself and declared that I had been the Organist at her wedding at St Peter’s, and that she was so pleased to see me again after fifty plus years. . I was deeply touched by that warm gesture and lovely conversation, and today I am deeply saddened by the news of her passing. I have warm memories of school at St Peter’s, and our 1955 Confirmation photo with Eileen’s terrific smile hangs on my wall in my home here in Ancaster.
My sincere condolences to the Fellows and Baker families. Ed Walzak,

Eileen was a caring and loving teacher and a good friend. We will miss her, in our lives. When we meet any of her past students they always ask about her and ask to let her know that she was ” The best teacher I ever had! “, “She had a big affect on my learning later on in life.” or ” Tell her, I still love her now, too!” We can only wish, as teachers, to be remembered, by so many, in such a way. To her family – your wife, mother and grandmother was the best and I know she will still always be there for you.

I met Eileen while working at Hillcrest Private School
She was an incredibly caring and nurturing soul, my heartfelt condolences to the family.
Dearest Mrs. Baker. You were always so friendly and kind. A great neighbor. I had no idea that you were from the Lake Huron area. My favourite place. Being a kid when we were neighbors we didn’t share our interests with each other. I wish I had known where you were going when I saw you packing up your car for your weekend trips. We did have similar interests afterall. You paid me a wonderful compliment once when I last saw you and your beloved husband, you said “I had a wonderful smile”. I will never forget it…because I thought the same about you.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Baker. Mrs. Baker was like a second mom to me as I was growing up. I have several fond memories of her. One particular memory is when I was invited to join Marilyn and Marie on a trip to Manitoulin. I was about 10. The three of us had just purchased matching sun visor hats. I used most of my spending money to do this. We then travelled via the Chi-Cheemaun ferry. I had never been on a ferry before and I thought it was pretty exciting. We walked around the open air deck and I didn’t realize the wind would carry my hat if was not hanging onto it. I immediately lost my hat and watched it float down into the water. I was so disappointed and tried to hide it. Mrs. Baker realized how important that one little hat was to me and took me by the hand to the gift shop and purchased another sun visor for me. It was probably a small gesture on her part, but it meant the world to me. I believe that she lived her life in such a way that service to others just came naturally to her. My condolences to Marilyn, Marie, Mr. Baker and families. Hope you can find joy in your memories.
I am so sorry to hear of Eileen’s passing. We grew up together in Goderich and went to St. Peter’s school. I would see her and her husband from time to time at mass so we would have a nice little visit. Memories are wonderful.
Very sad news indeed. My deepest sympathy to Charlie, Marilyn, and Marie, and families at this difficult time. I have known Eileen for a long time as Charlie and Eileen were my parents’ dearest friends. Eileen was a kind, gentle soul, and always showed deep care and concern for everything that was important to others. She was the epitome of goodness and grace, and we were all blessed to have known her. Rest assured, hers will be a safe and very direct passage to Heaven. Rest with the Angels. XO
So sorry to hear about Eileen, my condolences to the family. Eileen and I taught for many years together. She became not just my co-worker but a friend. She was a wonderful, caring person and will be missed by many.
My condolences to Charlie and his family on the passing of Eileen. I have been a neighbour of theirs for over 30 years at Bluehaven beach and ennjoyed meeting her on her walks with Charlie. She was a warm and lovely lady .
