BAILEY-PHILLIPS: Reuben of Lucan formerly of Toronto

February 15, 1985 – November 16, 2023

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Reuben Ernest Bailey-Phillips, who tragically left us following an accident on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Born on February 15, 1985, Reuben’s 38 years were richly filled with an immense passion for carpentry, a profound interest in history, and an unshakeable commitment to his beloved family and varied hobbies.

A master of his craft, Reuben was not just a carpenter; he was an artist. His work, marked by precision and creativity, showcased his love for quality and his commitment to excellence. His hobbies, including antique collecting and knife collecting, were not just pastimes but a reflection of his deep appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and the stories each piece held.

Reuben’s heart was anchored by his profound love for his soulmate and wife, Sara. They were best friends, sharing a bond that was as deep as it was enduring. Their relationship was a testament to true love and mutual respect.

At the core of Reuben’s life was his family. He adored his mother, Ingrid, who was his guiding light, and his younger brother, Tristan, who he cherished deeply. His older sisters, Vanessa and Ashley, were pillars in his life. Vanessa provided unwavering support like a second mother, while Ashley was his companion in laughter, sharing many cherished and joyful moments together.

His father, Ernest Lloyd Phillips, was his hero. Though he passed away too soon, Reuben always carried his spirit and teachings. Now, they can embrace the hug they so longed for.

Reuben’s impeccable sense of style and fashion was a reflection of his eye for detail and quality. He was known for his pristine and distinctive style, which added a unique touch to his personality.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sara, and their unborn son, Reuben Jr., a symbol of hope and continuation of his legacy.

Please join us in commemorating Reuben’s life and legacy. A celebration of his life will be held at the Lucan Community Memorial Centre, 263 Main Street, LUCAN on Thursday, November 23rd from 1 – 4 PM. A special moment of words of remembrance and tribute to honor and embrace Reuben’s life is scheduled for 2:30 pm. This will be a time to honor Reuben’s memory, celebrate his life, and share the stories of the man who meant so much to so many.

Stream the words of remembrance live or at your convenience by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh

Sara, My thoughts and prayers are with you. My tears are too. I can’t begin to imagine what you are going through, but know that when you are ready, a lot of people think the world of you and are here to help you through this. Take all the time you need. Once that baby is born, spend all the time you can teaching him about his Dad. We all know how precious life is, and it continues on in you and baby RJ.

Love you girl!!

There is nothing in the world worst then losing a loved one, especially when it seems the life is cut short. Death is the only thing that’s guaranteed in life from the minute ones born, life is all about survival and if we are lucky enough to enjoy it while we are here. Because death is part of life, may it bring peace to know we will all get there and therefore reunite. This is the only thing that is guaranteed as life is a journey and death is home. And God always takes the good ones first. My condolences to everyone this lose has touched. RIP Reuben you amazing soul keep smiling in the heavens above so we can look up and smile back at you 🕊️
