At Parkwood Veterans Care Hospital, on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 of RR 3 Ilderton and born and raised in Oshawa in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Edith (Geisberger) Arnott for 63 years. Dear father of D. J. Arnott and S. K. Riedel of Toronto, Al Arnott of Kitchener and Bernadette Furman-Arnott of Kitchener, Ken and Jane Arnott of Dorchester and Charlie and Anne Arnott of Ilderton. Dear grandfather of Daniel and Melissa, Brendan, Michael, Ben, Calvin, and Steven. Jack will be sadly missed by Edith’s 5 brothers and 3 sisters and the entire Geisberger family. Predeceased by his sister Bernice Ogle. Jack’s family extends a huge thank-you to the 4B West Staff at Parkwood for their exceptional care.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Thursday evening 7-9 PM, and on Friday from 12:30 PM – 130 PM, where the funeral service will be held on Friday, August 16th at 1:30 PM with Rev. Barbara Clark officiating. Interment Birr United Cemetery.
Donations to Birr United Church or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.

We met Jack playing Euchre at the Malibou Restaurant………………..He was always joking around…he sure loved his cards….will miss him.Please accept our sincer condolences…

Al very sorry to hear that your Father passed away. I know that you have been visiting him at Parkwood on a regular basis. I didn’t realize that he suffered from Alzheimer’s. I know that it is a terrible disease that robs an individual of the memories of their life and the memories of their loved ones and friends. It must be comforting to you and your family to know that he received exceptional care at Parkwood. Take some comfort in knowing that the people you work with are thinking about you and your family during this time,

Edith – over the time that Jack spent at Parkwood, I was able to get to know him quite well. I was shocked when I got to work on Wednesday morning and heard the news of his passing especially when I had just had him up for a walk on Monday afternoon. I was however able to say my goodbyes to him that morning. Jack touched a special part in my heart and definitely will never be forgotten. I will miss seeing you around the hallways. My deepest sympathies to you and your family at this difficult time.

Dear Edith, I got back to work on Thursday and heard that Jack had passed away. I just wanted you to know that it was a privilege taking care of Jack and seeing the love that the two of you shared. Dear Edith and family,
Mom and dad were saddened by the news of Jack’s passing. Jack was a life long friend to both of them and he will be missed. My childhood memory of Jack are that of a man who seemed to always have a smile on his face and a joke and laughter were never far away.
In looking at the pictures online you have a wonderful large family to help each other through this time.

Sorry that we were unable to attend Jack’s funeral but we have many great memories, especially of our trip together to Costa Rica.
