In later years, she moved to the roles which she most prized, that of mother and grandmother. Marg volunteered with many causes including the Canadian Cancer Society, the March of Dimes, the Children’s Aid Society, the Clinton Horticultural Society, and the Sarah Hale Chapter of I.O.D.E., where she was proud to have served as Regent.

Condolence from Murray Hill on November 20th, 2025 9:55 AM

I regretted reading about Margie’s passing, my condolences to all of the Allan family. Margie truly was kind and considerate in all facets of life.
In the 1940’s the Zapfe farm and the Hill farm were side by each south of Brucefield. As children we went back and forth to play. Once we were playing in the Zapfe barn area and Margie kicked an old bucket into the air. Me, being too dopey to duck, still carry the dent in my forehead. Margie was beside herself with concern.
One fall morning whilst walking west of Brucefield to school at SS#10, Margie on her bicycle caught up to me and stopped to give me a ride on the crossbar . We didn’t get too far when the front wheel buckled, the forks jabbed into the road and broke off. Margie and I went over the handlebars and the rest of the bike fell on top of us. Margie made sure l was alright but again was very much concerned.
Margie was always kind, always interested in “you” and always gracious.
Regards — Murray Hill

I just heard about Marg’s passing. I am so sorry to hear this. We were very good friends when she lived in Clinton and had lots of laughs in their rec room and a jig or two on their coffee table lol. Lost touch over the years but remember her well. Our thoughts are with the family.
