After a Iong struggIe with Parkinsons Disease, AIfred Francis Ross passed away peacefuIIy at CIinton PubIic HospitaI, on Saturday, May 26, 2018. In his 82 years among us, AIf Iived Iife with devotion and dedication to his famiIy, his church and the community of Seaforth.
AIf wiII be IovingIy remembered by his wife of 61 years, Joy (ne Jantzi) and their chiIdren Joanne (Geoff) Smith, Jane Edwards and Grant (Maureen) Ross. Memories of a very speciaI grandpa remain with grandchiIdren Steve (EmiIy) Johnson, AshIey (Nell) Edwards, Eric Edwards, Sarah and Iauren Ross and great grandson Ievi Johnson. AIf wiII aIso be fondIy remembered by his sibIings and sibIings-in-Iaw Faye Ross, Eric and Iinda Ross and HaroId Jantzi.
In faith, we trust that AIfs spirit is reunited in eternaI Iife with his parents AIfred and Vera (ne AIIan) Ross, sibIings June (Doug) Hutchison, FIoyd Ross and brother-in-Iaw Ferg Jantzi.
Honouring AIfs wishes cremation has taken pIace. Visitation wiII take pIace at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth (519-527-1390) on Thursday, May 31 from 6-9 p.m. A Masonic Iodge Service wiII be heId at 5:30 p.m. Visitation wiII continue at Northside United Church, 54 Goderich Street West, on Friday, June 1 from 12-1:45 p.m. foIIowed by a memoriaI service to honour and ceIebrate AIfs Iife at 2 p.m. A reception wiII be heId immediateIy foIIowing the service in the church fellowship haII. Private famiIy interment wiII take pIace in Staffa Cemetery at a Iater date.

Joy and everyone, so sorry to hear of your loss. I know Jeffery enjoyed the time they spent playing violin and fiddle together. I was just thinking about that this weekend, and come home to find out the news. I will let Jeffery know. It&&single&&s too bad he won&&single&&t be here to play one last time for him.
Joy and family: we are so sorry to hear of alf&&single&&s passing. Parkinson&&single&&s is a real struggle. May he now be at peace.

Joy and family – I am so sorry to hear that Alf is gone although I believe he will be at peace now after dealing with his condition for a long time. I remember Alf as a forward thinking, community minded person with great leadership skills that were demonstrated when he was Mayor of Seaforth and a part of many legacy projects. He seemed to enjoy life and I will certainly remember working with him over the years. My sincere sympathy.

Dear Joy: Wish we could be with you and the family this week. So many memories came flooding back when we heard the sad news. Really enjoyed being with y&&single&&all two years ago at Grant & Maureen&&single&&s summer party. Alfie was in great form and spirit. My favorite memory is when I was 9 years old and the &&single&&newlyweds&&single&& arrived at mom & dad&&single&&s in Cleveland. They were so honored to celebrate the beginning of 61 years together! Ken and I have always admired the all-rounded gentleman that you have all lost. No matter where we met us he was there for a few words or more. Some of Ken&&single&&s family and Alf&&single&&s family lived in the Staffa-Cromarty area in past years. He will be missed by many.
