Beloved husband of the late Gerda (Maas) (1996). Dear father of Rian en Piet van Rijsewijk-van Oss, Hennie van Oss en Wiel Op het Veld, Wim van Oss en Jenny de Vos, Ans van Oss, Jan van Oss en Hanneke Tielen, Tonneke van Oss en Lucré Schoorlemmer, and Esther van Oss en Bas van der Waarde all of Holland, Paul and Faye van Oss of Grand Bend, Karin van Oss and Cleve Hess of Tobermory, and Judy van Oss and Eric Lindsay of Etobicoke. Dear grandfather of Lonneke and Ad; Koen and Emilie, Susan and Vincent; Paul and Michelle, Mickey; Martijn and Kylie, Jasper; Marijn, Floor; Elles, Joris; Frances and Tyler, Nicole; Adam and Anna, Jessica and Ryan, Jarod; Jean-Luc, and Kate. Great-grandfather of Sanne, Aukje, Teun, Lotte, Inoué, Mara, Ruby, Lincoln and Oliver. Dear brother of Adje de Louw-Van Oss, Leo Van Oss, and Annie van de Heuvel-Van Oss, and brother-in-law of Sjaantje Van Oss-Maas all of Holland. Special uncle of Tony and Willie Verberne of Exeter. Predeceased by grandson Kees van Rijsewijk (1997). John immigrated to Canada in 1977 to fulfill his lifelong dream of farming. He farmed in the Exeter area for 27 years.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, Exeter (1 street west of Main) on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Prayers will be said in the funeral home on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Precious Blood Church, 200 Sanders Street West, Exeter on Monday, December 22nd at 11:30 AM with Father Len Desjardins presiding. Interment Exeter Cemetery.
