So sorry to hear of Barb’s passing- I look at this picture, and it brings back so many floods of memories I can still see Barb coming into our house in Toronto when I was a little girl, and I remember thinking- she is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen !!! I am not religious, but I think Barb is up there somewhere with my mom, a scotch in one hand, a cigarette in the other, in their bright red and pink high heels (which I also remember- my mom and your mom went out and bough these bright shiny high heeled shoes-mom’s were bright red and Barb’s were bright pink), having a great time talking about us all!!! She will be missed, but I will always smile when I remember her… and my memories will be of a beautiful, fun, loving woman, who told me once that the most important job in the whole world is being a MOM !! And she was a great one !!!!

Kara, Sorry to hear of you moms passing. Just recently gone through this with the loss of my dad I can appreciate where you might be right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Who can understand the heart of one like our Barb? Never, ever negative. Whenever I hesitate to be friendly, some kind of Godly conviction comes upon me and says, “Just put on Barb!” And suddenly my smile is genuine, the pitch of my voice reflects that warm country Ontario hospitality, and I feel my eyes sparkle. Just like that, Barbie comes out of me. Her humble and bubbly influence has prodded my character my whole life. And,OH! How we loved her, because she oozed animated love. And beauty, inside and out. As a little girl, Barb took my breath away. This is who I want to be like when I grow up! Who can imagine the far reaching legacy of this SWEET woman on her children and grands? What a blessing! My sincerest condolences to the family. I visited your mom a few times when my husband Otto was on the same wing but he passed away last year.
She was a lovely lady and raised a beautiful family. I specifically remember the girls from SDHS.
