I have known Jerry for over 40 years. In that time you get to know a guy pretty well. We all loved Jerry. He was a special guy. In his obit it was written “Jerry loved God, his family and friends and we were blessed to have him in our lives. He will be in our hearts forever.”
Those words say it all. I can add nothing! But to me the word FAMILY stands-out. Whenever I got to see Colleen and Jerry, I would say “hows the family? .. and Colleen would tell us about what’s going on with the kids and grand kids – in great detail. I’d look over at Jerry and he wouldn’t say a thing .. but as Colleen talked Jerry’s eyes would light up and he would smile. It was so so obvious that he was so so proud of his kids and his grand kids. Jerry was most of all a Family Man in every sense of the word and as such he was an inspiration to us all.
For Jerry, FAMILY was job one.

So sad to hear this news. Jerry was a wonderful man, always ready to help get our boys to their sports. It was what he loved to do, and we were so blessed to have him in our lives.

Dear Colleen and family,We were so sad to hear of Jerry’s sudden illness and passing.I’ll never forget the great times we had growing up in Sheen,the dances,skating and the fun parties either at Sullivan’s or home,(Brennan’s).Jerry was always smiling and kind and ready to squeeze someone else into that little Beetle Bug to go to the Fort on w/e’s.Art always thought of Jerry as a great guy.Our prayers are with you.

I went to trade school in Toronto with Jerry and worked with him for 30 years at Ford of Canada in St. Thomas. I always considered Jerry a friend and colleague. He was always cheerful and a willing helper. I’m sure that he will be greatly missed by his family and close friends. He is in a better place but we will miss him.

I have wonderful memories of this time. Jerry bought me my first and only rosary, I think for my 5th birthday and it has traveled though life with me. Like my mom said I pinned in my wedding dress, and took it with me to the hospital when I had my son. Colleen and family, I was in Nova Scotia visiting my family when I learned of Jerry’s death. It was so sudden! You and the rest of the family had learned of his illness only the week before. I have fond memories of the afternoon Jerry and I spent together at Myrtle’s bedside in the Pembroke Hospital. He was such a warm, caring person with a strong faith. How grateful I have been for the support the Sullivan family have given me since the death of my husband, and I know they will be there for you too.
