STEVENS: Hazel Isabelle (Liz) of Bayview Subdivision, RR 2 Zurich

Of Bayview Subdivision, RR 2 Zurich, Ontario; Formerly of Winnipeg, Manitoba.  In my 81st year.  I worked for 28 years at Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre, retiring in 1996.  Predeceased by parents, Walter Harold Mullen and Gertrude Mae (Woods) Mullen of Beeton, Ontario.  Sisters Jean at birth, and Margaret (Betty) Cruthers.  I have been taken where I have not been before, on June 19, 2016, to be home with MY GOD.

I have to leave Don, my husband, my soul mate, and love of my life, whose love for me, I treasured.  Exceptional son Larry, daughter-in-law Lorna of St. Marys, who were my calm, my rock, and my strength, and always there for me.  Gentle and loving son, Todd, and daughter-in-law Denise of Winnipeg.  Altogether, they completed my life, and made everything worthwhile. Daughter Tanis Dawn Goldman (David) of Vancouver.  Goodbye to my only brother Bruce Mullen, who was my pillar, as we grew up.  Sister-in-law Laverne who I grew to love dearly.  Farewell to granddaughters Caitlyn, Courtney, and grandson Dylan, of Winnipeg; Plus all my remaining grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who were a delight to me.  Farewell too, to all the Stevens Clan, of whom I joined some 38 years ago. I loved them all. To dear friends, Jim and Deanna Fawcett, with whom Don and I spent several glorious winter vacations in Florida; I am taking your love with me.  To dear friend and sister-in-law, Elaine (Jo Jo), and her husband Don (Ft. Erie) who were always there with never-ending love, and support, as was my dear friend and neighbour, Barbara Coker.  Special thanks to Dr. Englert, and Nurse Practitioner, Janice Hayter-Oke, for giving me that inner strength that only you could give.  I would like everyone to be happy, and have good memories, and be at peace.  I’ll see you all later, as we GO HOME.

There will be a celebration of my life on Saturday, July 9th, 2016 from 1-4 PM at the St. Peter’s Parish Hall (73334 Bluewater Highway #21). Parking available. Cremation has taken place, and inurnment with be at the Stevens family plot in Niagara Falls at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Sakura House, or the charity of your choice. Haskett Funeral Home, Zurich (519-236-4365) entrusted with arrangements.
