At Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich, on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, Oliver Steckle, formerly of R.R. 1, Bayfield, passed away in his 95th year. Beloved husband of the late Gertrude (Baechler) Steckle (1990). Dear father of Mervin Steckle of R.R. 1 Bayfield and friend Angie Redfearn, Dorothy and Bob Dietrich of Zurich, Helen Steckle of Exeter and Ruth Anne and Ken Grove of Baden. Loved by his grandchildren Ronald and Bev Grove, Richard and Lyn Grove, Tony and Sue Grove, Ryan and Janelle Grove and his 12 great-grandchildren . Sadly missed by his sister-in-law Lillian Steckle, his many nieces and nephews and the Baechler family. Predeceased by his parents Menno and Elizabeth (Shantz) Steckle, son Menno, brothers Daniel, Simon, Menno, Allan and Asa and sisters Magdalena, Hannah, Celinda, Rebecca and Mary.

Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. N., Zurich on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, August 21, 2009 in the Zurich Mennonite Church at 2 p.m. Pastors Phil Wagler and Scott Stein officiating. Interment Lakeview Mennonite Cemetery, Blake, Ontario.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluewater Rest Home Building Fund or a charity of one’s choice.
