Condolence from Haskett Funeral Homes on January 15th, 2016 2:02 AM

Condolence From: Mai Young VON Palliative Care Volunteer at Bluewater Rest Home
It has been my privilege since August 2006 to visit with Emma, a beautiful and gracious lady whose mind was clear despite her being over 100. Emma shared many of her memories with the VON volunteers. Rita Chandler, the volunteer who attended the visitation on Friday, wrote a life review covering some of the many aspects of Emma’s rich and sometimes tragic life, gleaned through the friendship both Rita and I forged with her. Rita may have offered to let you have a copy – although of course you know the story already!
Emma was always so appreciative of our visits. She also told us how Earle would bring her melon and feed it to her so he was sure she got it. She told about her grandparents. She talked about what a hard worker her revered grandmother was, saying how difficult it must have been for an only child to have come to Canada, never to return to Germany.
Her strong faith helped her through her final years, and now she will be reunited with her husband who died far too young, and with the children who preceeded her.
My condolences go out to all of you.
Mai Young VONPCP Volunteer
