PATTERSON: John Robert of Grand Bend

We are devastated to share that our husband and father, John Patterson, passed away on Feb. 1, 2017 in Cape Coral, Florida.  John is survived by his wife, Judy McDonald, daughter Michelle Patterson-MacCuaig, (Alex), and sons John (Krystal), Matt (Britt), grandchildren Isla and Lachlan, sister Barbara Lace, and nieces Janice Lace, Pamela Roel, and Marsha Lace, grandnieces Julia and Olivia, grandnephews John and Bennett.  John was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Dorothy Patterson. John loved his life. He couldn’t believe how lucky he was to be living his dream, life on the water in Grand Bend, life on the water in Florida.  He believed he had the best family, the best friends and almost enough toys.  John’s gift to the world was to make life fun.  We have lost him far too soon.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be take place in the summer.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice.  Thanks to Haskett Funeral Homes for their support.

Dear Judy and Family,
This is a terrible shock. Through Rotary I got to know John. I watched and admired his commitment to serving our community through Rotary. John was always so positive and engaging. He made plans, took action and lead others to follow him in making our lives better. I will miss him.

I offer this prayer for the continued journey of his soul.

“O my God! O Thou forgiver of sins, bestower of gifts, dispeller of afflictions!

Verily, I beseech thee to forgive the sins of such as have abandoned the physical garment and have ascended to the spiritual world.

O my Lord! Purify them from trespasses, dispel their sorrows, and change their darkness into light. Cause them to enter the garden of happiness, cleanse them with the most pure water, and grant them to behold Thy splendors on the loftiest mount.” ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

Our sincere love and condolences,
Josy and Gord Britton
