Sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. You’re in my thought’s and prayer’s at this time. I have many fond memories of being at the farm as a kid riding the horses with my Dad. Many talks at work with them. They will be happy to be together again.
Remembering your Mom and her beautiful smile! Our deepest condolences to your family as you begin this journey…
Dear Joanne, Bruce and Brian and families: Please accept once again our deepest sympathy. It is so hard to believe that generation has passed away in your family. Although the last few years have not been great ones, Janet did live a wonderful life. I remember so many times when our two families got together, sometimes with many other families, sometimes with just our two families, but there was always fun, always laughter and always something special happening. The trips to the Pinery on a Sunday afternoon, or to Hepburn’s pond, or to the Hensall snow hills, (remember the day my dad rode the flying saucer down the hill and hit a stone and hit his tail bone! Very painful!), weiner roasts, or just sitting in the house playing cards, dancing to the music, working on puzzles, playing charades, church events, lunch after the Christmas concert, lots and lots of family times. I learned to play Canasta at your home, from your mother and Joanne, I tried to ride a horse at your house – never really caught on to that!, I watched your mom make many muffins, cakes, chili sauce she cooked all night long in the oven, can fruit and vegetables, and so forth. Those were the good old days, where family was so important, making your own fun was high priority and neighbours and friends were number one. We miss those days, just as we miss your mom and dad. Your mom was a steadfast worker in the church, a great CGIT leader, a concientious treasurer of the UCW for many years, a collector of history, interesting information and items, a good dancer and a smiling, joyful person. We have missed her since she has not been able to come out to church. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Cherish your memories. They will help you in the next days, weeks and months. God bless.
