What a kind and gentle man. He always had time to talk and always brought a smile to your face. He was proud of his sheep and was very willing to bring some baby sheep to the Thames Road Elimville church for the Sunbeams kids to cuddle.
He seemed so proud to attend the Usborne Central School celebrations.
He will be missed.

Condolence from Kelli Beecroft (Fulton) on August 28th, 2013 9:10 PM

Very sad to hear of the passing of one of the best bus drivers ever! You always brought us treats for all the holidays (even after you retired), let us have paper fights on the bus for the last day of school every year, fishtailed around the corners in the winter, and made sure you hit the pot holes to make us fly off the seats. Not many can say they had the same bus driver as their parents. Thanks Don for many years of fun on bus #15 from Usborne, and for keeping in touch all these years. Thanks for cheering us on at ball games, stopping in for visits, and even for making it to my wedding reception for a dance. You will be missed!

Dear Amelia
Sorry to hear of Don’s passing. Don used to pop into the Sears office after he got his ears lowered. He always had a joke to tell, and he spoke often of his four legged best friend , Maggie. Don touched the hearts of many and will be dearly missed. Rest in peace.

We were all greatly saddened by the news of Don’s passing. He was my favourite #15 Bus Driver and also my 4 daughter’s favourite, when they went to Usborne School also. He always made us smile and had a story to tell. He was generous with treats for all and he was the best driver ever. He will be truly missed by everyone.

Dear Amelia,

I am deeply saddened by Don’s passing. He was a wonderful person who touched everyone he met with humour and kindness. And the support he showed to the wider Exeter community – whether it was the Exeter Hawks, the Fall Fair or as a dedicated school bus driver – should never be forgotten. He will be missed.

He was #15’s bus driver. I was crying the first day of school getting on the bus and Don moved someone to let me sit in the front seat! I sat there on and off until grade 13! He took good care. And…..school was just around the corner. LOL! He will certainly be missed. Our condolences Amelia.

So sorry to hear of Donald’s passing, he truly was a fine gentleman. I purchased his horned dorset flock from him in 1997. He was so funny to talk to, always a great story. He loved life, he was such a great person for the young people to listen to his life stories. Always a perfect gentleman. He will truly be missed by all whom his life has touched!!!!
