CONNOLLY: Murray (Sod) Michael of Kippen

At his late residence in Kippen on Saturday, April 4, 2015, in his 57th year. Beloved husband of Alison (Blommaert) Connolly. Dear father of Amanda Connolly, Daniel Connolly and Braden Connolly, all of Kippen.  Brother of Maureen and Don Cole of Exeter, Pat and Stephanie Connolly of Oshawa, and Eileen and Dave Wise of Washago. Son-in-law of Sue Blommaert and the late Andrew Blommaert.  Predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary Connolly. Murray was a passionate farmer in the Kippen area all of his life and was owner operator of Algoma Tire for 18 years.

Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, (one west of Main) Exeter on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 8th at 11AM with Father Frank Murphy presiding.  Interment St. James Catholic Cemetery, Seaforth.

Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated the family.

Sod was always a laugh when I took a tire in for repair,we would always have a nice chat about what was going on. I enjoyed his character , his stories about his motorcycles and his escapades. We shared hockey stories,travel stories,and every item under the sun. We would always find a good laugh over something. My condolences to the family.I will always remember his big grin and laugh. Shocked and saddened to hear of Murrays passing. I met sod in college and we have met infrequently since then at hockey arenas and his tire shop. He will have left a positive impression with many people including myself. May you find strength during this difficult time.

So very deeply saddened to learn of Murray’s passing. He inspired and enriched many lives. His seemingly carefree nature, ready smile and warm engaging personality will always be remembered. The many conversations around farming, motorcycles, travel and countless other topics will be greatly missed. Just returned from down South and heard the news about Murray. Our sincere condolences to his family and to Don and Maureen Cole. I first met Murray at CCAT and then he kept the rubber on our vehicles since opening his business in Exeter. Playing oldtimer hockey against Murray I would always say going into the corner that I’ll get it but he never listened. Great guy, he left us all with lots of memories to remember.
