God Bless you & may the warm positive memories help you overcome the rough times that grief presents to us all.
In sincere sympathy, Judy.

“Kala” as many of us called her in Acro before and after Acrochallenge, was a very dear and sweet woman. She was one of the first people I met in the early days of Acro and stayed friends throughout many different stages of Acro. The lady had a way with words………this is a great loss to us all. My prayers are to her family and many other friends who will miss her as much as I will. She was an inspiration to many.Blessings to all who have been touched by her sweetness, caring, beautiful words and beautiful heart.
John and family
Deepest condolences at this difficult time for you and your family.

Thinking of you all at this sad time. With deepest sympathies. Mike and Lucy
You just never know how many lives you touch, even those whom you have never met face to face. Charmaine (aka kalamityjn) was well loved and very respected in our AcroChallenge community. Her kindness, wisdom and compassion were offered equally to all in the most gracious and nonjudgmental fashion. We all knew how much her family meant to her and we felt blessed to be part of an online family with her. Charmaine will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Although many of us never met Charmaine in person we still deeply grieve her passing, and our heart-felt grief is the proper way to repay the unconditional gifts of friendship and love she bestowed on so many of her internet friends.
Charmaine’s ill-suited nickname “kalamityjn” was often shortened to Kala– probably because most of us are lazy and incompetent typists… but also because we instinctively knew that the real Calamity Jane wasn’t nearly as nice as our dear friend Charmaine, who deserved a far better nickname. So we called her Kala instead, which in Hawaiian means princess, a regal title that evokes the image of a beautiful girl in a royal garden, posing with her cherished pets– a parrot, and a small black dog…
In Sanskrit, the meanings of the name Kala include “art” and “skill”– both of which allude to the way Charmaine played the online word game where many of us met her: Artfully, skillfully– but always kindly and compassionately. (The definition of “artful skill” is beating your opponent so sweetly and completely they don’t even mind the thrashing you’ve just given them).
But it’s the Arabic meaning of Kala that probably best described Charmaine for many of us: Beloved. What a beautiful seven letter word for someone who so richly deserved love!
John, please know that you and your family are in our prayers.

I’m another who knew Charmaine as my friend, Kala. She was a very special person and we’ll all miss her terribly. She’ll be remembered as someone who was always willing to help whoever needed it. Even more important, we all knew her as a wife, mother, and grandmother whose family was more important to her than anything else in the world. I hope you will be comforted during this difficult time by the knowledge that Charmaine was so special that even her online friends, many who never had the pleasure of meeting her, could see her inner beauty. She will always hold a place in my heart.

Charmaine (or as we knew her, kalamityjn aka kala) will be missed by many. She was one of our Breakfast Club ladies, and she touched many of our lives, each in a wonderful way. I can’t express how deeply saddened we are by the loss of this wonderful lady. She was truly a class act. Our Breakfast Club won’t be the same without her.
My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to Charmaine’s family. It was truly a blessing to have shared part of our lives with her.
We will truly miss you, “Kala”.
