BRAND: Elisabeth ‘Betty’ (Luteijn) of Exeter

Peacefully at Stratford General Hospital, Stratford on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 of Exeter in her 84th year.  Beloved wife of the late Henk Brand (2010).  Dear mother of Elisabeth Brand of Orillia, Marilyn and George Lutchman of Sharon and mother-in-law of Jim Kirkland of Neustadt. Dear grandmother of Ryan (Nikki), Jamie; Gayle, Jillian and Jaclyn and great-grandmother of Riley.   Dear sister and sister-in-law of Saar and Georges VanPoecke, Piet and Cato Luteijn, Nelly Luteijn, Jacob and Elly Luteijn, David Luteijn, Johan and Vivian Luteijn all of Belgium and Wim and Sarie Luteijn, Marie Luteijn, Hanni and Paul Schemers all of Holland, Corrie and Martin Fischer of Maple Ridge BC, Hans and Nancy Brand of Crediton, Bert and Renie Brand of Exeter, Jim and Theresa Brand of Dashwood, Art Brand of Crediton, Tina Brand of Exeter and Rennie Brand of London.  Predeceased by her daughter Ann-Marie Kirkland (2014), son-in-law Bert Beardwood (2016), sister-in-law Sonja Luteijn, and brother-in-laws Robert and Simon Brand.

Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, Exeter (1 street west of Main) on Friday evening from 6-9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Exeter Christian Reformed Church, 330 Huron Street, West on Saturday, November 18 at 11AM with Pastor Kevin teBrake officiating.  Interment Exeter Cemetery.   

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Stratford General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Our deepest condolences. Although Canada was a far way we always felt connected with our Aunt Betsy and her family. That is way we feel this loss as well even from the other site of the Ocean, she such was a fine person. When I see the pictures on this site, the good memories come back of the, too few, times we met her.
