I was sad to hear of Brian’s passing. He was a great neighbor to Mom and Tom. I remember a few years ago, Tom went to Florida and I stayed with Mom. A major snow storm blew in, and the driveway had at least 2 feet of snow overnight. Yikes! The next morning, Brian arrived with his snow blower and a smile, to rescue the damsels in distress! Brian was a thoughtful friend, who will be missed.

To the Ankers families, our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Brian always had a smile, was a sincere, friendly helpful person and he made our community a much better place by his presence. Brian was bowling at the Lucan Bowling Lanes when Don bought the lanes 39 years ago, and was still there when Don retired 4 years ago. Spanky always had a hand shake and a smile when he came through the door. He will be missed and always will be in our memories.

Dear Janet and family and Linda,

Please accept my condolences on Brian’s passing. As my sister Christine has said, Brian was a great neighbour who helped my family on several occasions this summer. We appreciate it very much!

Last March, I had the opportunity to meet Brian again for the first time in a decade while helping my sister and brother-in-law prepare our parents’ home for sale. Brian was quick with his words of greeting as well as with the smile for which he is well-known!

Wishing you comfort and fond memories at this difficult time.

Tim Stutt (Ottawa, Ontario)

Janet and ALL of your family as well as Brian’s Firehall Family

May your pain be comforted with all of the outpouring of support and fond memories of Brian. Everyone has such great memories of him in your home and family setting, at the bowling alley and at the firehall. He touched us all.

It is so fitting that Brian’s funeral service is on 9/11 since it has become such a memorable day to honour all firemen who are there for us all.

Brian taught everyone that when times get tough, the tough keep on going. Brian will forever be a part of everyone in the Lucan community.
