We are so terribly sad to hear about Pete. I first met Pete as one of his hockey coaches in London when he was only 9 years old. Through the years of coaching hockey and lacrosse, I have many fond memories of Rod and Pete. I particulary remember a year when we had 3 sets of brothers all on one lacrosse team and the close knit group of players they were. Pete always had a smile and worked very hard. We shared lot of jokes and stories and a lot of great times on and off the playing surface.. Pete may be gone but he will always be a part of our fondest memories.
We extend our deepest sympathy to all of your family

Condolence from Audrey Schell on May 5th, 2016 9:23 PM

We are so sorry for the loss of such a fine young man. He has made such an impact on my little person. When my son needed comfort I asked him what he remembered most about Mr A. and he responded ” I liked it when he taught us the song: We’ve got the whole world in our hands”. He liked making art stuff with him. He loved to dance with him to the computer music and the way he laughed when he would trick us and turn the music off! When he was asked for a relief break, my son laughed at the way he would say “Quickly Mark!” Clearly my son loved this man and misses him very much. Wisely he said, “I guess he will have to teach all the angel children who did not get a chance to go to school”. Yes Mark, I am sure that he will teach the angel children and they will all dance! Julie I hope this offers you some comfort in the days ahead. He was a good man and a wonderful teacher. He will be missed. He has touched my son’s life and I know that Mark will never forget him!
Wishing you strength for the days ahead as you journey through this loss.

Condolence from Nick Sawyer on May 6th, 2016 6:25 AM

I was absolutely floored when I heard this sad news. Pete and I ran into each other about a year ago and he was exactly as I had remembered: happy, quick to laugh and even quicker to smile. We spoke of our memories spending endless hours playing ball in Komoka with Will, Adam, Tyler, Chris, the Thompson brothers and so many more. We talked about getting older and how our bodies were forcing us to admit defeat and perhaps even getting some of the boys to sign up for old timers slo-pitch together. Pete was one the most genuine people I have ever met and will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with Rod, J.D., the rest of his family and all the other people who had the good fortune to get to know him.

Condolence from Greg & Evelyn Kozoriz and family on May 11th, 2016 3:24 PM

Rest in peace dear Peter. On Mother’s Day 2016 our family spoke of memories.

Our families grew up together next door in Kilworth. Lyn was my friend. Since birth, her gentle-giant Peter was a frequent visitor, constant chum and reliably obedient. For example, at age 7, he came home safe in my carload of kids swimming at Oriole Park as the sky turned green, unleashed a load hailstones for the garage freezer (dutifully collected)…..then the Komoka Tornado of summer 1990.

Back-yard campouts, sled rides down the little hill, hockey and blood on the driveway,
Helmets from now on, spake Lyn and I.
He loved the Disney’s animated version of Robin Hood over-and-over,
High jinks in the treehouse before it collapsed, the double-bench garden swing,
Sleepovers, wieners and marshmallows on sticks, all kinds of field trips to the river,
Fireflies in a jar. In high-school, our elder daughter’s first date.
Pete was such a good sport, funny and dignified at the same time.
Many hearts are breaking in memory of true childhood friend, Peter Adamthwaite.

With deepest sympathy to Peter’s wife, Julie and families of Rod, Lauren and JD,
From Greg & Evelyn Kozoriz and Michael, John, Kathleen, Nicole & families
