At Sudbury Regional Hospital, Memorial Site on Thursday, March 27, 2008 Gerald Glen (Gerry) Ballantyne in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Estelle (Vaillancourt) (St. Germain) Ballantyne of Sudbury. Loving father of Kevin (wife Leslie) of Kitchener, Darren (wife Stacey) of London, Steve of Exeter and Susanne of Surrey, B.C. Special grandfather of Justin, Tamsyn, Ashlynn, Geoff and twins Mathew and Kailey. Also survived by step-sons Maurice St. Germain (wife Natalie) Justin and Eric of Sudbury, Daniel St. Germain (wife Jenefer), Ashley and Kitiara of Calgary and Steve St. Germain of Ottawa. Sadly missed by his brother Ross (wife Alma) and his sister Helen (husband Eric Kints) all of Exeter. Son of the late A. Roy and Beatrice M. (Knight) Ballantyne. Gerry was born and raised in Exeter, Ontario. He worked for many years as a funeral director at the Lougheed/Jackson and Barnard Funeral Homes, retiring in 2005 due to his failing health. A skilled embalmer, Gerry was dedicated to the funeral profession. He was a loving husband, a proud father and grandfather. Gerry will always be remembered as a quiet and thoughtful man whose dry sense of humour was appreciated by all. Beloved son of Lorna Ellyatt of Lucan and the late Ward Ellyatt (1982). Dear brother of Diane Ellyatt and her friend Brian McDonald of London and Patty Mayo of Lucan. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Dear father of Sharon and Don Cameron of St. Marys, Bill and Shaun Lambourn of R.R.#2 Granton, Ken and Bonny Lambourn of Granton, and John and Cindy Lambourn of Lucan. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great-granddaughters. Predeceased by a brother Bill Lambourn and a sister May Flaxman. John will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. Helen Irene Burton passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7th, 2008 in her 88th year. Helen was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on October 1st, 1920 where she resided until she met and wed Walter (Wally) Burton, an officer with the Royal Canadian Air Force whose final posting was to be Centralia Air Force Base. Wally predeceased his wife on July 4th, 1995. Much loved by their son, Scott and his wife, Mary of Exeter and sister, Ruth Maier, husband, Len and son, David of Roblin, Manitoba. Helen’s three grandsons, Mark Burton of Windsor, Jeff of Hensall and Michael and his wife, Julia of Exeter will always remember her as a devoted grandmother and a woman of integrity. Helen was twice blessed by the presence of two great – grandsons, Charlie and Jesse Burton, sons of Michael and Julia. For many years, Helen was an integral part of the golfing and curling communities of Exeter where she made many friends. Cremation with interment Exeter Cemetery. At her request, there will be no visitation or services. We ask you to remember her as a result of your good times and fond memories. In lieu of floral tributes, it was Helen who asked that she be remembered by donations to the development of the games of golf and curling for the youth of South Huron or to the charity of one’s choice.
