At home, surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 28, 2007 Mary (Smythe) Callcott of Lucan in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Clifford Callcott (1969).  Dear mother of Patricia (Hillary) Hopps of Victoria, B.C., Bill and Joyce Callcott of Strathroy and Michael and Pat Callcott of Lucan. Dear grandmother of Darryl and Ashley; and Valerie. Predeceased by a sister Kaye and brothers Tom and Jack Smythe. Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick ’s Church, Lucan on Tuesday, July 31st at 11AM with Father Vincent Van Zutphen presiding. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Right to Life Association would be appreciated by the family. Prayers will be said in the funeral home, Monday evening at 8:15 PM.

Jeanne (Weber) Crocker

Surrounded by her family at the Clinton Hospital on Friday, July 27, 2007 Jeanne (Weber) Crocker of Huronview and formerly of Exeter and Hay Township passed away in her 90th year.  Beloved wife of the late George Kirby “Pete” Crocker (1982). Dear mother of the late Eric James Crocker (2002) and mother-in-law of Yvonne Crocker of Oakville.  Dear grandmother of Andrew and Elisa Crocker of Calgary, Tamara and Joe Stone of Burlington and Vanessa and Paul Thibideau of Oakville.  Also survived by several nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.  Jeanne was a South Huron girl her entire life, where she raised her family and retired from many years of hard work on the farm and the refrigeration business. She was devoted to her faith which brought her joy and comfort throughout all of her life. She will be sadly missed by many family and friends. In honour of Jeanne’s wishes a memorial mass will be held at Precious Blood Church, 200 Sanders Street West, Exeter on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 10 AM with Father Ray Lawhead celebrant.  Cremation has taken place.  Interment Exeter Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Precious Blood Church would be appreciated by the family.  Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter (519-235-1220) entrusted with arrangements.

At Wildwood Care Centre, St. Marys on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 Madeline Gertrude (Westman) Hardie formerly of Granton and Lucan, in her 96th year.  Beloved wife of the late Robert Hardie (1992).  Dear mother of Pat and Joan Hardie of Dutton and Ruth Cook of Granton. Much loved grandmother of Heather Hardie of Calgary, Dave and Marg Cook, Doug and Kim Cook, John and Cheryl Cook and Steve and Amy Cook all of Granton and proud great-grandmother of Brad, Jenna and Steven; Jesse and Kathryn; and Maddie and Grace. Dear sister-in-law of Amelia Jameson of St. Marys and Anna McCullough of Thamesford. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son-in-law Clifford Cook (2006), brothers Vic, Harry and Leon, sisters Verna, Ruth, Bernice and Edythe and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Lant Hardie, Ken and Rhea Hardie, Glenn Jameson, Floyd and Mary Dykes and Harold and Edith Hardie.  Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Wednesday evening 6-9 PM and on Thursday 10-11:30 AM where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 26th at 11:30 AM with Pastor Paul Vollick officiating. (Johnston) Wells of Exeter in her  100TH year.  Beloved wife of the late Laverne (Doc) Wells (1978).  Dear mother of Robert Nicol and Muriel Wells both of Exeter and mother-in-law of Madeline Wells of Exeter.  Dear grandmother of John and Brenda Wells of Seaforth and Karen Wells of Windsor and great-grandmother of Michael and Alex. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Vera Chambers of Goderich, Verdun and Jake Lindenfield and Iva (Tiny) Wells all of Exeter.  Special aunt of Jean Muir and her late husband John and their family David and Brenda Muir of Keswick and their children Candra and Sean of Keswick and Rob of Toronto.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by a daughter Mary (2000), a son Don (1999) and sisters Myrtle Beacom, Irene Harness, and Grace Mugford.  Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, 1 west of Main, Exeter on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 1:30 PM with The Rev. Dear sister-in-law of Leona Morley of Exeter, Gwen Morley of Hazel Park, Michigan, Muriel Hodgins of Toronto, Alice Hodgson of Lucan and special sister-in-law of Victor Hodgins of Lucan. Predeceased by sisters Elva Morley, Mary Ruston (French) and Ruth Brock, brothers Howard and William Morley, sister-in-law Jean Ainslie, and brothers-in-law Emerson, Murray and Bruce Hodgins. Jean was recognized for her contribution in preserving local history and community service.
